Cold Weather Date Night + Moments of the Week

I didn't think I would be able to jump on board the leather legging trend this season...you know...being pregnant and all.  But then I found this pair from Hatch.
I am a happy girl!

Moments of the Week

I Should Have Known Better Moment

As a school psychologist, I perform many forms of counseling with kiddos.  Last Tuesday I was working with a 4th grade boy on the skill of identifying problems that he had control over in his life.  In this exercise, we compare "play-doh problems" with "rock problems."  To illustrate how play-doh problems can be controlled and altered, I give the student a handful of play-doh:

Me: "Allright Billy...go ahead and make whatever shape you want.  I'll then guess what you made!"
He quickly molds the orange clay into a shape and holds it out for me to see.
Me: "Um, okay...it's a carrot!"
Billy: smiling "Nope.  Guess again."
Me:  "Is it a fat snake?"
Billy: trying not to laugh "Nope!"

And then it hits me.
I gave a 4th grade boy a bunch of orange playdoh and he totally just made a wee-wee.
Feel Good Moment Turned Awkward Moment

A police officer came to the elementary school I work at to deal with some parents.  I spoke with him for several minutes and he was incredibly nice and about an 8.2 on "Marion's Man Rating Scale."

Right before he leaves, he looks down and sees my ring and comments, "Oh...you're married.  That's too bad."  I immediately blushed and said that I will take that as a compliment.  Well then he looks at my belly, a spark of acknowledgment spreads across his face and he exclaims "Oh wow...and you're pregnant!  How did I miss that thing?!"

Yes...he called my baby bump a "thing."  He was quickly downgraded to a 4.3 on my scale. :)

Thanks so much for reading!
