DIY Jewelry Organizer

Lately I've been looking for a creative + easy way to hang the jewelry that I wear most often.  I was being herded through roaming the aisles of IKEA and came across these bulletin boards (I think they were less than $5 each) and decided this was the route I was going to take!

With less than $20 in materials, I was able to make something that was not only functional but "kinda pretty" according to the man of the house.  I hung them on a wall in our closet so it's perfect to reach for accessory items while getting dressed.

How do you organize your jewelry?

XO - Marion

PS - Be sure to use the T-pins as they prevent items from slipping off the board.  You can find them in any fabric store.

See you for tomorrow's Trend of the Month Challenge Link-up!

This looks so cute! I just painted the border of mine, but I may have to go in and paint a design on the cork!

I just hung some command adhesive hooks in my bathroom on a sad looking wall this weekend that I am using for the time being. They didn't have the pretty faux metal ones I was looking for but I am still loving the look for my everyday jewerly. (I have an irrational fear of hanging things that requires holes in my wall!)

Love this! Truly is there anything more frustrating than a tangled necklace that you're dying to wear when you're already 10 minutes late for work? Or maybe that's just something I've been through...

@ Leslie - Haha! That is so funny. I too hate pounding holes in my walls. But sometimes, it must be done! :) And the hooks are great for everyday jewelry!

@everyone - Thanks for the sweet comments! I am DIY-challenged, so this was kind of an accomplishment for me!

That came out really cute, Marion! Although I'm pretty sure my hubby wouldn't let me display my jewelry on the walls :) Right now my jewelry collection is rather disorganized, I gotta figured something out!

Thats a good idea for DIY. Chains always find a way of getting all tangled up and this is a good way to keep it from happening. I indulge in some DIY of my own. Have a look at it on my blog

Cute! I keep mine on bulletin boards too, but love the idea of spicing things up with some fun stripes. Maybe chevrons?

I did a really similar DIY jewelry organizer a few weeks ago (http://www.twelvebysix.com/2012/08/diy-time.html) but covered mine with fabric. I really like your spray paint version too! I put mine next to my closet so it's easy to grab something and go! :)

Nice! Those bulletin boards are like fallen angels that have led you to the right track. Now, you can certainly take double care of your jewelry with the tips they offered to you. =) Anyway, these statement necklaces are really cool. These are going to match well with cute dresses, high heels, and the perfect hair-do.
