Color Obsession: Oxblood

Husband walks in and glances at this post as I'm writing it...

Husband: "You're doing a post on the color red?"
Me: "Well, actually it's called oxblood...but yes."
Husband: "Well it IS a shade of red.  But I'm no color expert."
Me: "Yeah...okay.  But it's called oxblood..."
Husband: "Kinda morbid if you ask me.  I'd just call it red and be done with it."

Belt   /   Boots   /   Shorts   /   Bag

So whether you call it oxblood, maroon, dark red, or just plain red...this shade is a serious MUST for fall.  It's richness makes it almost a perfect substitute for standard black.

If you haven't already, you'll start seeing this color overtaking the racks at your favorite store!

So are you going to be sportin' this shade of "red" this fall? :)

XO - Marion

Looks a lot like Aigner, old school. I have a vintage Aigner, probably 40 years old, might have to pull that out of hiding.

@ everyone - Ha! So happy to know that I'm not alone in my obsession for this color. I don't want summer to go away at all...but I can't help but want to buy everything I find in this hue :)
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment ladies!! xo

The boyfriend tells me that men can only see a limited number of colors. they see in basic colors and that's about it. Something can be blue or green...but not teal.

Ha ha, that sounds like a conversation I would have with my Man! I LOVE oxblood for Fall (although I was calling it burgundy, but oxblood sounds so much cooler)! Really love those shorts! I definitely need to go shopping for this colour asap! :)

How funny, the leather couch I just got is this color! A pair of riding boots in this shade would be amazing.

I love the jewel tones of fall, and burgundy is definitely on my wish list for fall wardrobe additions. Calling it "oxblood" definitely gives it a grown up vibe! So fun

You bought those H&M Booties!!! I was drooling over them a few days ago but did not give in. Can't wait to see how you style them up, and then I'll kick myself for not getting them. ;)

I love the trend of oxblood for fall. But, it does make me sort of smile as last year I swear the same color was called burgundy!

Ha! Oxblood really is a morbid name for a color, especially one that pretty.

I am definitely stocking up on this for fall, though... and I think I'm going to stick with calling it wine :)

I'm currently on the hunt for a wine-colored tailored blazer. Perfect with riding boots and dark denim!
