DIY Jean Shorts

Here are my favorite pair of jeans.  I literally wore them to death.
I decided it was time to give them new life so I broke out the scissors!

And voila!  Now I have some fun shorts for summer!

Jeans - Hudson
Top - Splendid (seen here in Turquoise)
Hat - Nordstrom Rack (men's department)
Bag - BCBG
Watch - Michael Kors

Have you ever taken scissors to your old clothes?

XO - Marion

Super cute! OMG I love my bermuda length DIY jean shorts. I did a method with a few more steps and a permanently cuffed faux hem that fits the tapered size of the thigh of the jean. http://www.adventuresindressmaking.com/2010/03/we-need-to-learn-to-make-these-shorts.html
Loooove them!

I haven't done that to any old jeans yet! But I have a feeling I will soon, after seeing how cute you look in them! Lovely blouse too :)

You look great, and thank you, thank you, thank you for not making them super short sawed off cut offs. I find that look is generally so unpolished.

Remake and reuse!!! So cute and no money spent. I did this too. Thinking of taking scissors to and old denim jacket, cutting off sleeves.....we'll see. Anyway, perfect outfit for a day of cookouts, lake parties etc.
Happy 4th!!!!

I did this last summer to my favorite pair that a marker had leaked on. I am pretty sure I needed two days of therapy afterwards. When you find something your butt feels great in, it sad when they get converted to only be worn one season a year!

So cute, Marion! I'll keep this in mind when a pair of jeans get to0 hole-y to wear. :) Enjoy your 4th!

Love the shorts! I did that to my mint (now lime green) shorts! I love how a favorite pair of jeans can still be worn and don't have to go to the trash!

Totally! I love making jean shorts. I've even thrifted jeans just to make shorts with. ;)
Love these, they look so soft and comfy and so cute with the silky blouse. ;)

You look FAB!!

umm you are adorable! i haven't... but the whole tight bermuda length shorts look terrible on me, so i probably shouldn't.

Good job with those shorts! I'm way too freewheeling with the scissors- which is really bad because we don't have a sewing machine and can't hem what I've hacked!
