Black and Blue

STYLE TIP:
A minimalist color palette often calls for a minimalist approach to accessories.
Resist the urge to throw on every bracelet, earring, and sparkly-do-hicky in your closet.
Simple can be good.

Sweater - J.Crew
Shorts - Trouve (similar HERE)
Heels -  Enzo Angiolini (Similar HERE and HERE)
Necklace - F21
Clutch - Urban Expressions (sold out)

I wore this for date night this weekend.  The husband said I looked like a "beautiful bruise."  This from the same guy who saw my sweater from Friday's post and exclaimed "Did you get that from Pat Benatar's closet?!"

Good thing he's so darn good looking.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for a super exciting announcement!! :)

XO - Marion

I hope you'll join us on Wednesday for the "Trend of the Month Challenge!"

I can't wait to see all your mixed pattern looks.

I just started reading your blog (I am a big fan of J's Everyday Fashion) and I love your style! Has anyone every told you that you look like a much-prettier Jackie O? Especially when you wear your hair pulled back. The photos of the hot-pink top/striped skirt combo just scream Jackie O in Greece in the 70s - you even have her hairstyle down pat! Hopefully you will take this as a compliment. :) Please keep up the good work!!

Love this look and the color palette. I also love your reminder about keeping the outfit simple. Sometimes I have to keep myself from throwing on every accessory I own when I wear a more simple outfit. But you're right...sometimes simple is better!

Haha, boys say the weirdest things about clothes somethings, but at least he snuck a "beautiful" in there! :) I love the colors in this, they're so classic, and you're totally right that the minimal jewelry plays off of the minimal palette so well. Great look!

Oh my god.. All the hubby's of the world must have the same book. Mine has said that to me as well when I have worn black and blue. The Pat B. comment made me giggle I must admit.

Love how this is almost a cross between colour blocking and ombre! Super fun and such perfect colours...I love the mix of cobalt and black.
