Moments of the Week
"Double Take" Moment
I live in a high-rise building and share a recycling bin with folks on our floor. Well, this morning I was innocently taking my recycling out, when I peered into the bin and saw this:
Two thoughts immediately came to mind:
1) I better look under my bed in case the husband has some tricks up his sleeve.
2) Two women in my book club live on my floor. This month we are reading "50 Shades of Grey." Just saying'... :)
Reality Moment
As many of you know, this is my first week of summer vacation. Now you would think it would be full of pool time and fruity tequila-based beverages...but it's been mostly a bunch of Windex, vacuuming, and laundry. I can't relax until everything is clean and organized.
And here is a typical load of laundry complete with one lemon beagle.
"I Can't Help It" Moment
I like to walk Bogey and Palmer to this park that is about a mile away. We chase squirrels, skip and sing songs. Well, I walk them on an attached split leash like this:
And yes...Palmer prefers to lounge in the sun while Bogey wants to walk!
It's a problem.
Anyway, when they see a squirrel, I usually let go of the leash and they take off super fast! It's pretty exciting (I lead a boring life, all right?!)
Well, the other morning they chased a squirrel up this tree:
And I'm not sure if you can see it, but there are two sets of legs under this tree!
I had to get the dogs from under this tree and was totally surprised by two men just standing there doing drugs. I grabbed my dogs and as I left the tree I couldn't help but state loudly, "You shouldn't do drugs!"
They just laughed...but it had to be said! Plus, what about fire safety?! You're standing under a tree!
Sigh...okay. I realize I am a dork.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!! Thanks so much for stopping by!

It's hard to turn off being a teacher. Thank God I've never run into anyone doing drugs! However, I will tell teens to be quiet in the movie theater. And I have to resist the urge to pull up their tops when they are exposing too much cleavage ;)
Your recycling bin story made me LOL. I can't believe you are reading Fifty Shades for the book club. Hilarious! Someone was definitely inspired!
Lastly, your dog is so beautiful. I think I need a lemon beagle in my life. Except for some reason every time I think lemon beagle, in my head I say "Lemon Bagel" which is a totally different thing. And probably kinda gross. OK, enough. Have a great weekend!
Stunning, love the top!

Love the outfit, the post was hilarious, but most of all... LOVE the pups!
Cleaning usually comes before relaxing for me, too!
Also, this 50 Shades of Grey book keeps popping up everywhere, but I really don't know if anyone really likes the book. I just get the feeling it's "dirty".
Have a great weekend!

Oh man! That recycling surprise gets me! I was just in Spencers the other day getting stuff for a bachelorette party and I saw that and thought, "Who would be ballsy enough to walk up and pay for this with a straight face?!" Apparently somebody in your vacinity! ;)
Haha, that is HILARIOUS what you found in the garbage! I read the first book and I'm now on 50 Shades Darker. Psyched for the movie version!
Do you like the split leash? Been thinking about getting it for our dogs, but I dunno if it would work since Jinx is 70 lbs. Gotta love the beagle hunting instinct...yesterday Oliver tried to eat a fake bird off someone's lawn :)

Enter to win a clutch!
We tried walking our beagles on a split leash and it was a very comical disaster! It was much better for everyone involved to just get two separate leashes.
I just found your blog recently & I love it!
Love the laundry with the puppy helping! My kitty Oscar loves laundry duty. We tried walking our kitties on a leash......bahahahaha. Thus, they don't do outside.
That's a me outfit. Cute t-shirt and jeans, never wrong. maybe I should throw something of novelty in the trash, just to entertain the garbage pick up crew!
your so pretty! I love your outfit

HAHA! So true! Drugs are bad! And 50 Shades...what do you think? I haven't touched it in the past week. Have a super great weekend friend, and a few fruity tequila drinks for me! :) xoxo
hahaha, your post made me laugh! The outfit, simple yet so fab! Thanks a bunch for stopping by and commenting, Marion! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

your dogs kill me. so freakin adorable. makes me want to get a second pooch ;) altho, that would make the hubs a little more than angry!
Love the way your dog tilt his head in the laundry picture - wondering what you are doing, maybe?
a couple things: 1. your classic white tee and jeans look is amazing. 2. i would NOT know what to do if i saw that in our recycling bin. 3. i could not stop laughing at the image of you telling those guys to not do drugs. I LOVE IT. happy friday, marion!
I love how you told those guys not to do drugs, that is totally awesome! As is the recycling bin discovery, that's too funny! Love this classic jeans and tee look!
You are hilarious! The sheets thing and "Shades of Grey," Hahah! I also love your tip about not wearing a necklace with shirts with neckline details- totally agree- don't gild the lily- and that is a peeve of mine when I see that. Also, LOVE your laptop bag! I am in the market for a good one- and chic! Ideas? Brands?
HHHMMM... are you ever going to be able to look at your neighbors the same knowing one of them could have under the bed tie restraints and are totally freaky deaky? Because I'm totally nosy I would pry. Just saying. As for the drug users... I would have yelled something similar and included. Drugs are illegal, you know! I'm such a square!

omg i started following your blog about 3months ago when i went on maternity leave because i was in need of style advice so thanks for that! but this post cracks me up i had to comment LOL i love reading your moments of the week, to freakin funny! have an awesome weekend!
OMG HILARIOUS!!! I would have freaked out and not said a word...but the fact that you said something...I LOVE. I also find it ironic that they are doing drugs IN a tree...like they wanted to damage their bodies...but while getting some fresh air. Lovely. And shut up with your tee and jeans. How do you make something so simple look so fabulous? Have a great first weekend to your summer vacay friend!! <3
OMG the tree story is crazy! You look so cute!
Ok, yikes. To it all, the trash, the druggies, the laundry! ;) Sounds like you had a fun week.
I love the ruffly tee shirt, so pretty with jeans.
Also, thank you so much for your sweet comment on my blog. ;)
Omg the trash! I am dying! That is hilarious. If I was throwing something like that away (I would never have this in the first place) but I would have made sure it was covered up. The OCD in me I think!
In my post yesterday I spoke openly about my hatred for drugs.. stupid kids!
Have a great weekend!
I think it's hilarious how many weird and awkward moments you experience. Those interesting restraints? Hmm, clearly someone was curious. And the last picture with kids doing drugs in a tree? Umm.. what?! How creative.. lol
Cute outfit, love the ruffle detail at the neck :)
I wore a very similar outfit today- white top and jeans, classic! Bahaha that under the bed restaint made my day (and hopefully won't make upcoming book club meetings awkward!)
Hi Marion, stopping by from BYW2.0
You can never go wrong with a white t and jeans. Love the top.
I browsed a bit love all the great fashion combos. Pleasure to look around.
Enjoy the weekend, and I'll see you in class,
Lisa
I absolutely love that you just made a white tee and jeans look amazing! Your Friday posts are always my favorites. So fun and so real!

Yes! I totally agree with the tip not to wear a necklace with an embellished neckline. It's just too much. I tell my clients the same thing. But hey, when you don't want to think about accessories, an embellished tee is just the thing to wear.
