TRUE CONFESSION:
I am the least competent gal when it comes to nail polish. My average manicure lasts approximately 5 hours to 3 days. Yes...I'm like a middle school girl.
If I am on Day 3...you had better believe that I am running down the hallways at school kicking up my heels and rejoicing! (Because I work at an elementary school, this behavior does not stand out as abnormal...thank goodness!)
REGARDLESS:
It's important to me that my nails be beautiful. So on that note...
FIVE SPRING 2012 NAIL POLISH TRENDS:
Sheer Opal Butter London - Purchase HERE
1) Celebrate Neutrals
This girl was so flippin' excited to see neutrals and soft pinks all over the S/S 2012 runways! I have always been somewhat conservative (vanilla?) when it comes to nail color.
Mint Candy Apple Essie - Purchase HERE
2) Pistachio Greens
Look for polishes that have creamy undertones.
Pink Icing Dior Vernis - Purchase HERE
3) Think Pink
French + romantic + sexy + subtle + innocent = on trend
Jaffa Butter London - Purchase HERE
4) Think Pantone's Color of the Year - Tangerine!
Totally disregard that I had a guy ask me last week if the color I
was wearing was called "Pumpkin."
Jerk.
They think of better names than that... :)
Anselm Reyle Dior - Purchase HERE
5) Neons
I adore an unexpected electric neon color like this gorgeous shade from Dior.
One note...I would stay away from neon yellow as I feel it's past it's prime.
So which polish color trends are you planning on rocking this year?!

i have some mint on right now :) quite a happy color!!
All such beautiful colours. I seem to go for orange quite a lot, but I would love to invest in a mint polish. Next on the list! xx
All these colors are great, Marion! I'm loving mint polish and you can't go wrong with a subtle neutral!

The Tiny Heart
The pigs currently glow with a fab coralish, and a few rhinestones, flower in design, highlight the biggest of the pigs!!!Not sure of some of those greens yet....Thankfully, the pedi lasts well into 4 weeks, worth the cost. Is 49 too old to do a hot color on the hands....don't want odd looks are quite comments concerning age and youth......
I love the mint nail trend this year. Zoya was giving away samples of their new minty color yesterday...but, alas, I was too late. I'm also excited to try out some electric blue.

@ everyone - Glad y'all love the colors I featured! I am partial to the nude + pink...:)
@ Judy - Hmm, good question! I often ask myself if a certain nail color is "off limits" for me because of my age. I always tend to just follow what I'm comfortable with. If I put a shade on my nails and I don't feel comfortable...I don't keep it :)
I also think your work environment/professiona should be respected. I would be a little nervous if my doctor walked sportin' some crazy nail art. Just sayin' :)

I have some really lovely neutral shade nail polishes that I've been wearing lately...and a BEAUTIFUL dreamy pinky-rose one. Now I've just got to get some of that pretty pistachio colour :)

Yay! I'm wearing mint right now! Although...I'm much like you in that my polish doesn't last too long...so I guess you could call it mint CHIP right now. Hyuk hyuk....bad joke. :)
ok, I meant "or" quiet comments....not had enough coffee at the time.....sorry for the grammer error!
I can't get enough of my Mint Candy Apple! I'm a nail polish klutz myself!

You know when you come across a blog that you can really connect with? Well, that's how I felt when I found you! I love your easy, fun, chic style. This is a GREAT post on nail polish (something I confess I neglect for the very reasons you mention). I am thrilled to be your 389th FOLLOWER!!

I love bright candy apple reds and nudes of all shades. I've taken to having my nails done with shellac once every three weeks and it's been working out perfectly. At 20 dollars every three weeks, it is a bit expensive but I do like my nails to always look "done" and they tend to crack right down the middle if I don't keep something on them.... so this is the only way I can get a tad bit of length on them as well.
Omg I am in love with those colors! Especially the mint and bright blue!
I always love a good neon color ;)
