The Top 5 Moments of the Week:

Ouch Moment - This is embarrassing.  I was skiing down Vail mountain with the cheesiest smile on my face...until I noticed that my husband had stopped at the base to watch me.  I know it's weird, but I suddenly got nervous.  Next thing I know, a mogul jumped out at me I hit a mogul the wrong way and I'm instantly airborne.

It was a complete yard sale...skiis and poles went one way while my knees and shoulders went another.  I laid there with my head buried 5 inches deep and remembered muttering into the snow (despite my slight concussion) one little word..."ouch."

This photo was taken about one hour before the mogul jumped me. Stupid mogul.

Comment of the Week: 5th grade student (in front of the entire class), "I'm experiencing some pain in my lower intestine.  Do you think this could be caused by constipation?  Because I can't seem to go to the bathroom."

Umm, okay...?

Annoying Moment: Okay, so I'm sorry to reference "The Bachelor" for the 3rd week in a row, but I am SO annoyed by Courtney.  If she says, "Winning!" one more time, I am going to scream.

Kinda Funny Moment: I found this sentence in a notebook of a student who left our school.  It just made me kinda chuckle.  I work in a fairly impacted school and being called "meanies" is the least offensive name I think I've heard in a very, very long time!  lol!

That said, I labeled this only a "kinda funny" moment because part of me is sad that any child can look at school so negatively.  I love school. I love school so much that I work with kids who hate school to try to make them love school.  Ha!

Heartbreaking Moment: I spoke with one of my best friends on the phone this week.  Her mom just died.  My heart broke listening to her complete and utter despair as she talked about the emptiness left behind...  There is no greater heartache then listening to someone you love hurt so badly and you know there is nothing you can do to ease her pain.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  Know that I appreciate each and every one of you that stop by my lil' blog :-)

XO - Marion

Great jacket. Love the stripes.

Oh little kids are so cute. They just don't hold back, not even on constipation.

So sorry your friend lost her mom. Very cool that you were there for her.

I adore your statement necklace! I can't believe it's on sale for $18!

I want to strangle Courtney...this girl better not be there in the end. Ben, what are you thinking?

Sorry to hear about your friend's loss :( You're in the mental health field so I know you're being super supportive for her though!

Because of you, I'm looking at a Masters in Psy too. Had planned on it years ago, but......

You are a fine friend.

Love this outfit, and you're right, that's totally the equation for style success in a hurry!

That sentence in the kid's book is absolutely hilarious. Good for you for trying to make kids enjoy school :)

Hahah, I loved this post :) First, the outfit is perfection! You always seem to throw everything together with such ease. I try to look tailored everyday, but somehow I don't think I pull if off like you do ;)

So sorry to hear about your friend. It is such an unimaginable loss, I hope she can stay strong with help from friends like you.

Happy Weeekendd!!!!

PS- Don't worry about the mogul, happens to the best of us ;)

My heart goes out to your friend...and to you. I totally know that feeling, as I'm a NJ transplant and everyone in my life that I'm close to (besides my husband of course) is in California. It's hard not to be able to hug them or comfort them in the way that you want.

On another note...you look amazing today...I am totally going on the hunt for that blazer! And I almost spit out my coffee at the skiing moment. Imagine that incident, but instead make yourself 6 years old, and when you see someone watching you, you don't get nervous...you get all hot-shotty because you're thinking "yeah..i'm 6...and I'm the shit." Out comes the mogul, and then add a tree that jumps out of nowhere and a total Looney tunes moment where you literally are face first against the tree with arms and legs splayed around it. And because you're six...all you can do is cry until your dad manages to make it over to you...and your sister...who is 7...is totally laughing at you. And you realize...right then...in that moment...that you are indeed NOT the shit. You are 6. That was me.

I got a little teary eyed reading about your past student and really teary eyed reading about your friend's mom. Empathy is a wonderfully horrible thing. I am also drooling all over your look today, definitely a copy-worthy and easily copy-able style equation! Lovely.

I'm glad you're ok. That outfit is something I would have put together then put back. It looks good and fashion forward. Unfortunately, too shocking for all my suburb neighbours and colleagues.

Sorry to hear that your dear friend had lost their mother. It is hard to say or do anything, but as long as you are there for her, she will make it through. I personally hate school but I love teaching, weird isn't it? I love to work with kids and the best part of teaching is hearing your students' story about their day!
